4. Personal Data Protection

The Center for Artificial Intelligence Security (CeSIA), acting as data controller, attaches great importance to the protection of your personal data. This privacy policy aims to inform you about how we collect, use, share and protect your personal information in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR - Regulation (EU) 2016/679) and the "Data Protection and Freedom" law No. 78-17 of January 6, 1978 as amended.

We collect and process different categories of personal data via our website securite-ia.fr and potentially via other digital platforms we manage (for example, forms, event platforms, etc.).

The purposes for which we process your data are as follows:

Newsletter subscription management:

  • Purpose: Periodic sending of our newsletter containing news, analyses, event invitations or information related to CeSIA.
  • Legal basis: Your consent (article 6.1.a of the GDPR).

Donation management:

  • Data processed: Last name, first name, email address, postal address, donation amount, transaction information (but not complete bank card details which are processed by our secure payment provider).
  • Purpose: Administrative and accounting processing of your donation, issuance of tax receipts, communication regarding your donation and our actions.
  • Legal basis: Performance of a legal obligation (for the issuance of tax receipts - article 6.1.c of the GDPR) and our legitimate interest in managing donations and communicating with our donors (article 6.1.f of the GDPR).

Response to your requests and contact management:

  • Data processed: Last name, first name, email address, subject of your message, content of your message, and any other information you voluntarily communicate to us.
  • Purpose: Respond to your requests for information, questions or any other solicitation sent via our contact form, by email or any other means of direct communication.
  • Legal basis: Our legitimate interest in responding to your requests and interacting with our audience (article 6.1.f of the GDPR), or the performance of pre-contractual measures if your request relates to this (article 6.1.b of the GDPR).

Analysis and improvement of our site and services:

  • Data processed: Connection and navigation data (IP address, browser type, pages visited, visit duration), collected via cookies and other trackers.
  • Purpose: Understand how our site is used, improve its ergonomics, the relevance of our content and the security of our systems.
  • Legal basis: Your consent for non-essential cookies (article 6.1.a of the GDPR) and our legitimate interest for cookies strictly necessary for the site's operation and for aggregated and anonymized analyses (article 6.1.f of the GDPR).

The personal data collected is intended for authorized members of CeSIA.

They may be communicated to third parties (subcontractors) acting on behalf of CeSIA, strictly within the framework of the purposes described above and in compliance with the GDPR (for example: site host, newsletter sending provider, donation management platform, audience analysis tools). We ensure that our subcontractors provide sufficient guarantees regarding data protection.

Your data is never sold or rented to third parties for commercial purposes.

4.4. Data retention period:

Your personal data is retained for a period not exceeding that necessary for the purposes for which it is processed:

  • Newsletter subscriptions: Until your unsubscribe request (via the link present in each newsletter or by email).
  • Donation-related data: For the duration necessary for administrative and tax management, then archived in accordance with legal obligations (for example, 6 years for accounting documents).
  • Data related to contacts and solicitations: The time necessary to process your request, then archived for a limited duration in case of evidentiary need or to comply with legal obligations, not exceeding years after the last contact.
  • Analytical data (cookies): 13 months maximum from their collection.

4.5. User rights:

In accordance with current regulations, you have the following rights concerning your personal data:

  • Right of access: obtain confirmation that your data is processed and access to this data.
  • Right of rectification: have incorrect or incomplete information about you corrected.
  • Right of opposition: object, for legitimate reasons, to the processing of your data, except if this processing meets a legal obligation or is necessary for the performance of a contract. For processing based on legitimate interest, you can object to it at any time. For prospecting (newsletter), you can object to it without reason.
  • Right to erasure (or "right to be forgotten"): request the deletion of your data, within the limits provided by regulations.
  • Right to limitation of processing: request temporary suspension of the use of your data in certain cases.
  • Right to data portability: receive the data you have provided to us in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format, and/or request their transmission to another data controller, when processing is based on your consent or on a contract and performed using automated processes.
  • Right to withdraw your consent: for processing based on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before this withdrawal.
  • Right to define directives regarding the fate of your data after your death.
